FAQ

What products do you use?

Facepainting LA uses only professional, cosmetic grade products with FDA approved ingredients. Natural face paint and water resistant makeup are also available.

Do you hold public liability insurance?

Yes. Our artists hold individual insurance policies and we are happy to provide a photocopy upon request.

Do you have a minimum booking time?

No. However, the travel distance/ time needs to make sense and be cost effective for both parties. We do our best to provide an artist local to the event.

How many faces can you paint in one hour?

We can paint an average of 10-15 faces in an hour depending upon the complexity of the designs chosen.

Can you paint within the theme of my party?

Absolutely! The artist may need to "modify" an image to fit the time restrictions.

How soon should I book?

There are ALWAYS highly requested dates throughout every month. So reserve an artisit as soon as you have a confirmed date for your event.

Will I need to pay a deposit?

Yes. A 50% deposit (Retainer) will be needed along with a completed contract. This secures your event and goes toward the total cost of the contract.

What do I need to provide?

A table (3x3 min), 2 chairs, weather appropriate protection, an area away from any speakers, good lighting and any parking costs. If are unable to provide any of these, we can rent them directly. Let us know in advance so we can add the rental fee to the quote

What areas do you cover?

We cover all of Los Angeles and surrounding areas. If we are completely unavailable, we can recommend other reputable companies or artists.

Local areas include: Agoura Hills, Arleta, Burbank, Beverly Hills, Canoga Park, Chatsworth, Encino, Echo Park, Glendale, Granada Hills, Hollywood, Los Angeles, Malibu, Mission Hills, North Hollywood, Northridge, Pacoima, Panorama City, Pasadena, Reseda, Santa Clarita, San Fernando, Santa Monica, Sherman Oaks, Stevenson Ranch, Studio City, Sunland, Sylmar, Tarzana, Toluca Lake, Tujunga, Universal City, Van Nuys, West Hollywood, West Valley, Westlake Village, Westwood, Woodland Hills.

Do you paint at Charity and Non Profit Events?

We happily support Charity events. Unfortunately, we are not always available to do so. We have specific organizations that we have agreed to support. Please contact us to discuss your specific needs and budgets.

Who can be painted?

Anyone! Face paint is not recommended for children under 2 years old without parental approval. However we will kindly offer a small design on the hand or arm to younger children and inexperienced or nervous children.

What if my child objects?

No person will be painted without truly being a willing participant. A quick design on the hand may be more enjoyable for anxious young children.

What if I have an illness, rash or other skin condition?

In the opinion of the artists, if someone appears to be suffering from a infectious conditions or irritated skin, they will not be painted. However, another area will be suggested that is safe and enjoyable.

We reserve the right to refuse to paint anyone who is abusive, violent or intoxicated.

How do I remove face paint?

Please do not use baby wipes. The rubbing alone can cause irritation of the skin. The best way to wash off water based face paint is as follows: Take liquid soap or lathered soap straight to the skin and rub the make up around the face. Use a wet soft rag or face sponge to wipe off the soapy makeup until the face is clean.

Why should I choose Face Painting LA's highly requested artists?

Our artists are hand selected for their professionalism and workability. With all that, they also LOVE what they do, have pride in the work and dedication to the event they participate in.
